Dr. Mohamed El-Wakil Recognition, AEAS 39th, Annual Conference
- The Founder and the first president of the Association of Egyptian American Scholars, Dr. Mohamed El-Wakil has passed away in 2012.
- Dr. El Wakil was a Professor of Nuclear Engineering at University of Wisconsin, Madison.
- AEAS has recognized Dr. El Wakil through a special Recognition Award to his name during its Award Dinner in the Diplomats Club in Dec. 2012.His wife Dr. Betty Wass has travelled to Cairo specifically to attend the event and to receive the award in his name.
- AEAS has also created a onetime Scholarship Award in his name. The recipient of the Scholarship Award is Dr. Wael Eisa from the National Research Center. Dr. BettyWass has handed the Award to Dr. Eisa
