The conference was held under the patronage of his Excellency Dr. Hany Helal , Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and with the support and leadership of Dr. Salawa El Ghareeb, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities. The conference sessions were hosted at the new facility of the Supreme Council of Universities on the Cairo University Campus. The opening ceremony was conducted in the Cairo University large meeting Hall with the attendance of over 500 conference delegates and guests including leaders of Higher Education in Egypt, University Presidents and the heads research institutions.

The opening ceremony has also featured three presentations for the development of The Engineering Sector, The Medical Sector and the Commerce Sector in Egyptian Universities together with the expected collaboration with the AEAS in this regard.
